Been kniting for many more but find it difficult now due to arthritis, find the yarn heavy for larger items. Am able to knit smaller items for premature babies. Will find somewhere on site to see what may be needed or it's useful to send to Aunty Jane. May need to find some patterns too. I'm retired from nursing, pension age now. Severe mobility problems due to osteo-arthritis and polymyalgia. I live in Shrewsbury, Shropshire although I was brought up in North Shields. Use a motorised scooter to get out and about. Lots of things are needed for the babies , but I'm more on the stitching side of things than knitting. Aunty Jane will be back on board on Sunday or Monday probably , as it's our first fundraiser tomorrow , so she's up to the eyes. So , she or one of the other mods will be able to tell you what's most needed at the moment , but I think angel gowns , pockets and hats are usually on the top of the list. Not used to pro boards I'm Angie (Greydove). Although I joined, oh so long ago, I haven't been involved with the group. Life became rather busy as it does. The group I was quilting for is about to close, so I've got together on facebook with Aunty Jane. Lovely Lady, and it looks as if you are lumbered with me quilting for for the group I'm a widow. Youngest son is about to fly the nest so that just leaves me, my two pesky moggies and a pooch here. Rubbing my hands together at the though of all the free time I'll have. His old room .... lets just say I need more sewing space lol. I'm a Grandma to a super little girl who lives in Wales with my eldest son. I keep an eye on my own Mother. She lives in a Residential Complex. I sort of ended up running a Knitter and Natters group there (long story) and am very proud of the hudreds of items they have produced. Mainly blankets and prem items, with the odd pair of bed socks thrown in. I knit, both with needles and machine, do crochet but that's best forgotten about. Quilt of course and have made over 50 for the elderly and children ... so far. I'm sure you can help me get that number up. Can't do it without you. I cross stitch and embroider too. Basically can't sit still without some sort of crafting in my hands. Home is in Staffordshire btw. Think I've yammered on long enough. I live in Ohio, USA with my husband of 4 years and our combined total of 7 kids (ages 16 years to 4 years). Have too much time on hands as the youngest just started school so in order to help spare my family I can also help others that can gain from me. I have been cross stitching as long as I can remember- so about 25 years, just started learning how to do quilts and hope to be able to pick up crochet. I am mum to three who have all left home and doing their own thing now. I can't remember what I did with my time before I joined this group, but it was meant to be and I love it! I had the great pleasure of meeting AuntyJane and Katycorner with her lovely family, and also Nina, at our first ever fund raising day in York a couple of weekends ago. I had a great time there and can't wait to repeat it! I love York!
